How Telemedicine Is Transforming The Healthcare Industry In Makueni

Telemedicine is fast becoming an effective remedy for the Medical fraternity. This continues to gain popularity and bring many benefits to the medical world, especially for patients who need emergency treatment and who are far from specialists.

According to WHO it provides a cost effective approach to delivering high quality care and reduce morbidity and mortality.

2019 Makueni County Government introduced a telemedicine programme by equipping 5 health facilities with telecommunication devices linked to the Level 5 hospital in Wote Town and Kenyatta National Hospital. This would help patients access doctors remotely for diagnosis and even follow up. County doctors were also be connected to other global medical experts whom they will contact in case of a complicated health conditions.
